Welcome to Think ICT

Welcome to Think ICT

This is a blog about educational technology. It is not my “work” blog — you can find that one (ETNews) here. ThinkICT is a place where I can record things that I am fascinated about in the world of ed tech. I also started this blog because I really wanted to be able to expand on some of the ideas contained within my dissertation research.

Don’t know what the acronym “ICT” stands for? Well, many countries now refer to “information and communication technology” as simply ICT. The term can really encompass a whole lot of digital tools and how we use them. So welcome to my online ed tech space….

The acronym “ICT” is currently more widely used internationally than in the United States, although the term is gaining more recognition here in the U.S. It refers to Information and Communication Technologies, and generally references a broad array of digital media and technologies. ICT Digital Literacy, internationally, is incorporated into many national policies regarding information age, 21st Century skills, and bridging the digital divide. There are a number of references and resources you may find valuable on the ICT Digital Literacy Portal at http://www.ictliteracy.info

Thanks for your post, Brenda, and providing a description of ICT. The ictliteracy portal has been one of my favorite ICT references — partly because it’s a global resource.
