Lost to the Mediterranean Sea

I love reading biographies. Last weekend I read From Copper to Gold, about the life of a remarkable woman named Dorothy Baker. In 1954, she was in her mid-50’s when she and fellow passengers on a British Air flight from Rome went down off the Italian coast. Having immersed myself in the book for a few days (I couldn’t put it down), I’m feeling a bit stunned that her life ended so quickly, as if I’ve lost a dear friend myself.
